MARRIAGE
My daughter, don’t cause a separation between your man and his siblings;
it could be dangerous for you when they finally speak with one voice.
• My daughter, I know that some of you girls don’t wish to marry a man whose mother is still alive, don’t ever think like that, if you do, well, I think your son’s wife-to-be should start wishing you're dead now.
• My daughter, listen to me, when I married your father, he was as tiny as his salary but I chose to grow with him and today, those cars out there are some of the results of what we started so little, together, and we’re proud looking at them.
• My daughter, there is this thing i see happening in your time, some of you girls now get pregnant before the wedding day, well, it never happened in our time because no matter what, we never opened our laps before the wedding.
• My daughter, well, yes, I once locked up the cloth of your father because I got to my limit of patience and that was the only thing I could do, but one thing I haven’t said was that we settled the issue that same day and that was the last time I tried that.
• My daughter, look up there. That’s the wedding picture of your father and I, look at him smiling, I know you've seen it many times but what you did not know is that your father was angry before taking this picture, I hope you find a man whose anger doesn't last till the next day.
• My daughter, when your Father was riding a bicycle, I was always happy to hop on it and ride with him, not because I didn't see those men in their little cars but because my eyes also saw those men trekking to their farms.
• My daughter, if you and your husband eat a little food with love, you both would be satisfied. Times are not always the same; support him in every phase he’s passing through.
• My daughter, don’t ever close your laps to your husband in bed , the day he paid your dowry was the day you lost your will to do so, don’t be stiff and try to satisfy him even if you were angry with him.
• My daughter, a man would respect you and be more proud of you if you’re learned and not totally dependent on him. Strive to make your own money and while you're at it, be humble.
• My daughter, under the cocoa tree that I did meet with your Father was open and good enough for our discussions, yes; it was open and good enough if you understand what I mean.
• My daughter, in our time, we had sexy legs and firm bosoms to show our men , in fact, we had the finest ones, yet, when we dress, we cover those parts of our body, not because we were not civilized as you people would call it, but because we know that the eyes of men are hungry, many of them would only come, touch and go their way.
• My daughter, there is this thing you girls now practice, they say it’s feminism. Well, you can prove to be equal to a man in the society but please, not in your marriage because at my old age, I don’t want to start counting your husbands.
• My daughter, marriage is not a Rehabilitation Centre, if he’s not good enough for you before marriage, nothing he does would be good
enough after marriage.
• My daughter, you can see I still wear my night gown , yes, because to my husband; your father, I still want to look sexy. So, take good care of your body, look good for your man and don’t look like a grandma after giving birth.
• My daughter, I’m your mother and still, I'm not interested in you coming to me always if anything goes wrong with your husband. Though nowadays I see some mothers controlling the homes of their sons and daughters, I would only say; shame on them!
• My daughter, for you to have a peaceful home and well-trained children, have one voice with your husband, join him to say NO when he’s saying NO before the kids but later when you both are alone, you can plead with him for a YES, if not, the
children will see a loophole to misbehave, either to you or their father.
• My daughter, if you chose to live together with a man that you’re yet to be married to , and you are complaining that he hasn't proposed to you, oh, he already did. Whatever he said that made you start living with him was his proposal.
• My daughter, your generation does not see any pride in been a virgin before marriage, it’s a shame! Your father met me a virgin and he brought more yams to my parents and up till today, he’s still proud of me when we discuss in that direction.
• My daughter, I know that no man out there is complete, but when you are looking for your tall, slim, fair and handsome, if he’s a woman-beater, please, go for the short, fat, dark and ugly that will give you the respect you deserve as a woman.
• My daughter, know, learn and respect the culture and lifestyle of whoever you chose to marry . In some part of Africa, you knee down to greet your man’s parents while in some part outside Africa; you can even call them by their first name and ask for a
handshake. Whatever they believe in, if you've chosen him, believe it with him also.
• My daughter, don’t ever try to date a married man, whether his excuse was that he doesn't find happiness with his wife or he would have married you if he had met you first, if you ever try it, I curse you already.
• My daughter, when I say over 52 years of marriage , it wasn't that I did not see any reason to leave your father, I saw a lot of them but I bear his faults, i forgave him to stay married.
• My daughter, these are part of the wisdom i have gathered over the years. and If I had taken my time to tell you all these, and your marriage doesn't last like that of your father and I, then I had wished i never gave birth to you.

Memristor-The Missing Passive Element
Hello guys, it has been a very long gap I’m posting another
interesting post, its time to know something different which most of the people
doesn’t know. Its time to know one of
the interesting element which led the advancement of electronics, which made
robotics more efficient, a passive element which many people doesn’t know, yes it’s
the 4th element of the passive elements family called “ Memristor” .
![]() |
Memristor |
This post presents a very brief description of the special
two terminal device named ‘Memristor’, a contraction of Memory and Resistor
which has every right to be as a basic as the three classical circuit elements
already in existence, namely, the resistor, inductor, and capacitor.
The concept of memristor was originally proposed by a circuit
theorist LEON.O.CHUA in 1971 as a missing nonlinear passive two terminal
component relating the charge q(t) and the flux-linkage ψ(t) As per many
circuit theoretic properties of memristor derived, it is shown that this
element exhibits some peculiar behaviour different from that exhibited by
resistors, inductors, or capacitors. These properties lead to a number of
unique applications which cannot be realized with RLC networks alone.
![]() |
Curve relating charge & flux linkage |
The memristor's resistance is not constant but
depends on the history of current that had previously flowed through the device, i.e.,
its present resistance depends on how much electric charge has flowed in what
direction through it in the past. The device remembers its history, that is,
when the electric power supply is turned off, the memristor remembers its most
recent resistance until it is turned on again.
Applications of Memristors:
v The memristor could make it possible
to develop far more efficient computing systems with memories that retain
information even after the power is off, so there's no wait for the system to
boot up after turning the computer on.
v It may even be possible to
create systems with some of the pattern-matching abilities of the human brain.
v As for the human brain-like
characteristics, memristor technology could one day lead to computer systems
that can remember and associate patterns in a way similar to how people do.
v This could be used for improving face
recognition technology & biometric technologies.
v Solid state memristors can be
combined into crossbar latches which may replace transistors in the future.
v These have applications in the
various fields of electronics such as signal processing, control systems, radio
frequency identification and so on….
Hope this brief idea about the Memristors was useful to all , hoping to write more regarding this in the upcoming future. Thanx for visiting the blogger. Do comment ur views . Keep visiting.

Refrigerator Can Create Unique internet
Refrigerator Can Create Unique internet.
Refrigerator certainly no longer the electronic device that 'wah'.
However, what if the fridge is equipped with internet access that allows
us to display the image on the screen on the refrigerator door?
That breakthrough
presented by Samsung in the refrigerator makes. South Korean electronics
giant is developing an e-Diary Zipel refrigerator with a door that has a
touch screen measuring 10 inches (about 25 cm).
This refrigerator is
equipped with Wi Fi software that allows users to surf in the virtual
world, read internet news, weather forecasts, or view pictures and data.
Not only that, as quoted from the AFP, this unique fridge can also send and receive pictures from mobile phones.
Refrigerator
e-Diary Zipel dibanderol priced at U.S. $ 2,174 or approximately USD 20
million. Unfortunately, this refrigerator will only be sold to consumers
in South Korea. Samsung plans to market the device is not yet widely
available. But Engr. Demo is working on something after his final year project.
Tools Developed Terrorist Mind Reader.
Concerns of the international community against terrorist attacks is
still missing. To anticipate, the experts had developed a mind reader
devices are considered able to anticipate any future attacks.
Computer experts and psychologists from Northwestern University,
United States claimed that they were able to read the mind of the
terrorists were caught and they will know the location plan the next
assault. The team placed electrodes on the scalp terrorists and examining their brain waves.
Tests conducted with the involvement of approximately 29 students who provided a number of planned attacks. Students are positioned as a terrorist.
For the first study, students are then questioned about the attack plans, and of course the researchers actually know about these mock terrorist plan. But their purpose in the early stages of this research is to monitor how the student brain wave patterns when answering questions about where and when the attack took place.
As the initial stage, according to psychology Professor J. Peter Rosenfeld, expressing a sense of guilt in the information occurs in the 'P300 waves'.
In the next stage, researchers do not know the plan of attack and then the students are asked to not tell the location plan. The researchers found that when given the wrong information P300 wave showed a pattern that is not the same. So the most likely terrorist patterns give the wrong information but when the P300 pattern similar to early stages of testing so it's most likely true.
"This test is 83 percent accurate in predicting the hidden information, and can show a complex protocol and can identify future terrorist activities," said Rosenfeld. We in Africa need to also do research in our project.

Should You Continue To Give Loans To Friends, Relatives?
Have you ever given someone a loan before? We all have. Did that person
return the money when he/she promised to do so? Some did, but many did
not. I make bold to declare that we all have had more experiences of
people defaulting on their debts than liquidating them. There are even
instances where debtors pretend to have forgotten that they owed someone
or downright refused to repay.
One would think that with the decay in moral values regarding money today in our society, many would be careful with their hard earned money. Sadly this is not the case. Many of us are suckers for a good “person in need” story. When you also consider that it is those who are close to us who come to us it can be extremely difficult to say no. This is Africa; we are known for being our brother’s keeper.
Giving loans is definitely not in your best interest. This is because most times you are loaning out your savings, monies you have kept aside that should be used to multiply into wealth for you. You cannot give a loan to someone from that part of your income meant to take care of your living expenses because it is too risky. How would you survive the month if the person defaults? Thus you take from your savings to help others.
The painful part is that many people experience disappointment as the funds are not returned as at when due; or alternatively they are returned in so many small and delayed installments that the money ends up being frittered away because it is no longer substantial. One can never become rich by constantly depleting your savings to help others.
This is precisely one of the major reasons why there are squabbles in many families. Negative emotions begin to run riot in the minds of creditors when their loved ones default…anger, hatred, disgust and disappointment. This is definitely not healthy. Money happens to be one of the major reasons for divorce and disaffection in many families.
One also needs to stop trying to play trying to play the role of banker in the lives of your loved ones and associates. The banks are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the business of granting loans and have put systems and procedures in place to ensure they recover their money. Sadly the same cannot be said of you. You would be well advised to leave the business of giving loans to them.
A more satisfactory approach would be to give anyone that asks you for a loan a cash gift instead. Give them an amount that they do not require to pay back. Ensure that this is an amount that you can afford to give away. This frees you from the feeling of guilt that may arise if you completely ignore pleas and cries for help.
Giving cash gifts is actually one of the secrets of the wealthy. They do not invest substantial sums into the lives of others in the form of loans, rather they give what they can afford, thereby putting their funds into more profitable ventures.
Set aside some funds monthly for this purpose in your budget which can be termed, “Donations & Gifts.” Tell everyone that comes that it is your personal policy not to give loans; rather you give donations which they do not have to repay. There is almost no one who would refuse to get something for nothing. They will take the gift and go to someone else to give them a loan and you will still be in their “good books.”
The more you invest into ventures that will grow your wealth the richer you will become. No money earned is ever enough so we must plug all the leaks and loopholes and free up money for investment. If one spends all he earns or loans out his savings poverty will be the end result. Stop this unwholesome practice today and begin to see a wealth exchange transfer come into your life as you invest the freed funds wisely!

Things A Guy Should Never Do To Impress A Lady
We guys have been made to think that we must always do anything possible
to impress the female folk. I'm not against a guy loving her babe, I'm
against a guy doing silly things in order to impress a lady.
The truth is that most times, these actions come back to haunt us while, we get to regret at the end.
1. Consuming too much alcohol: most guys are guilty of this especially when trying to woo a lady or when taking her to bed. This is wrong in so many ways: it will damage your health, its a temporary measure, you most times end up misbehaving and its not a guarantee that you'll succeed in wooing or performing well in bed. Besides, the lady will know that you took something and that you lack confidence and esteem. Be yourself.
2. Spending above your means: whether its buying things you don't really need in order to look rich and fly, or spoiling the lady with things you normally should not be buying. Its wrong. I see a lot of guys do this and I keep wondering to what purpose? The worst is many of them come back to their senses when its already too late!
3. Lying: I'm not talking about the small lies guys normally tell, I'm talking about bragging to a lady about what you're not. Why tell a lady your father is Dangote's brother, or you're a Chelsea player, or you work in Shell. This will make her have high expectation from you which you would be trying to live up to.
4. Badmouthing your fellow guys: Maybe a guy that is also coming after her. Its wrong for a guy to maltreat his fellow in any way because of a lady. Whether its badmouthing, fighting or quarelling with him, its not worth it.
5. Giving your values and beliefs: Maybe you're a committed Christian or Muslim, you start backsliding or become uncommitted because she told you to. You start to abandon your loved ones and family, your studies begin to nosedive and even your job sef, you become unserious. Its a very silly thing to do because when the chips are down, those are the only things that will get you going- God, your family and loved ones and your job which will put food on your table.
6. Pretending to be who you're not: there's no need to pretend to be a bad guy if you're not. There are still ladies who values good guys. U don't need to force yourself to seem confident if you're a shy guy. People will know you're just acting it up.

Being A Better Muslim?
What does being a better Muslim mean to you?
Many times we think praying Five daily salat, wearing the hijab, keeping the beard etc is the basis of being a good Muslim, while I do not disagree to it the question is, is that all? Is that were many of us end it? Isn't it wider than this. Afteral we all agree Islam is a way of life, is your life itself dawah?

10 Signs You Are A MAN Now
When do we actually call a male a MAN?
" When I was a child, I think like a child... when I became a MAN, I put away childish things"
Meaning, there are some things that when we put away, we become MEN indeed!
Below are 10 signs that differentiate you From a child...
1. You are faithful to one partner.
Only children say one thing and mean another.
If you vowed to remain faithful to her till death do you both part, then stick to your word.
A man is known by his words!
2. You don't stay out late.
Whatever excuse you may want to give is not worth it.
Is it football? Buy your own cable... Metro is not expensive na!
Drinking? Stop it sef!
3. He is thoughtful.
A real man plans ahead. He has it all figured out. Don't let your colleague be the one to remind you of your wife's birthday or anniversary.
Some men are too busy that they can't notice when their wife is going through stress at work. ... hmm.... E nor good!
4. You apologize relentlessly.
Stop forming KingKong, dat era don pass!
You offended and in your head is the school of thought that men don't apologize to women.
My guy, which planet are you from?
5. You talk less when your lady talks much.
Women are not only endowed at the back but also in their mouth.
When she is hurt, she will talk, but your reply should be in few sentences.
Two wrongs cannot make a right!
6. You are financially buoyant to take care of her needs.
How could I forget this?
You said, she is disrespectful. Start giving her money and see submission in action.
# I'm not referring those Recharge Card Beggers on Social Networks oo#
Women are designed to receive! Take it!
Giving her tells her you care for her...
how can you say you care and you've not a spent a penny on her?
Give her again and again and watch her pay attention to you and your dreams.. lol.
# nobody care how much you know until they know how much you care# QED!
7. You don't ever lay a finger on your wife.
Na Small small e dey start o...stop jokingly hitting ladies...
Beating your spouse is insanity!
You and her are One, beating her is beating yourself.
Who does that? An insane man.
Are you insane?
8. You appreciate her ceaselessly.
Your girl buys you a wrist watch and you don't really appreciate because you think it's your money, after all...hah!
No matter how "hard" a woman is, appreciation causes her to do more without complaining.
Complaining is a sign that you're not recognizing her efforts in the house.
You think she is an house wife? Wrong!
She wakes 4AM for school runs, then market, kitchen, washing, shop, school runs etc...
With appreciation, a woman can lick your feet. lol!
9. Sexually Active.
I didn't forget oooo
Orgasm is part of what makes sexx pleasurable. Every woman wants it!
For V's like some of us, we need to read books how to really/ truly satisfy our woman.
She deserves it na!
Forget Indecency Films, e nor real o...we know wetin dem dey take na...
10. You don't have to say this: "Don't you know I'm the man of the house?"
Lol! She will just know you are the baba!
You don't have to say it...
If indeed, you have tried to work on yourself from No. 1 - 9, Then No. 10 will just come naturally.
Only children tell their younger ones, "don't you know I'm older than you?" lol!
NB: No one is perfect o, we are all striving towards it.
I believe childishness can be put away and maturity can be brought in.

CAN GRADUATES OF THESE STILL GET JOB
of recent...about a couple of days ago..I basically made a write up of
the best top 10 courses and hot cake in nigeria as at today..
but I have finally, come up with another write up of the top 10 worst degrees with lowest potential for employment in nigeria as at today
certainly, there is no degree that guarantees one job in & by itself however given the current economic situation and the fast pace of economic and technological shift in the continent and nigeria in particular there are degrees you would be better off not investing your time and resources to acquire as opportunities affected in those areas are increasingly getting eroded...if however you have a degree in any of them and finding it tough to make career headway it's time to put on your thinking cap
1 General Arts;
this cover anything from art history to painting/sculpture in the western world and developed countries having a degree in the arts could fetch one decent job opportunities several years ago..after the depression however with many european economic still sttuggling to recover it's becoming increasingly tough to find opportunities for majors in such areas like archeology,painting/fine art, history et cetera.
the opportunities for these sort of degrees are shrinking and people with the academic credentials thinking to get themselves a job in related field would have to do a cot of innovative and pro active thinking.
career counsellors advise those who want to study such things as art, dance, and music to have a specific strategy...sometimes a way out could be getting a higher degree(such as masters).
2 Humanities and liberal Arts;
if you love sitting and thinking about the intricacies of life and expounding on theories of existence or analysing political theories and events there may not be enough opportunities to do that in real life with your philosophy or political science degree to earn good money..
Humanities and liberal Art degree courses like Anthropology, political science, philosophy and many more do not give the graduates who passes them specific in road into the employement market..unlike professional courses like engineering, and the business field having a degree in any of the humanities may not really point one to a specific career direction.
3 Education;
unless you are willing to take higher degrees and pursue teaching opportunities at higher levels of the education ladder having an education degree is hardly going to get you the best jobs.
the only ways a graduate degree holder in education will do better is either to go for higher qualification and try to break into higher level teaching or do a career switch entirely and go for higher qualification in a different field that has more career prospects.
4 Religious studies;
Given the way churches and self styled pastors are springing up in every nook and cranny it should appear that splurging money on a religious studies degree will present the holder with bright prospects...however nothing can be further from the truth..except you are willing to plunge in and open your own church down the street, becoming a quran clutching preacher et cetera...there are hardly any existing opportunities for you to explore if you have a religiouss studies degree and wish to exploit opportunities there in.
5 Mass communication;
In considering mass communication we had a struggle with choosing a few other courses ahead of mass communication but at the end the argument was too much against mass communication degree.
the increasing introduction of media technology is eating away at the former strongholds of mass communication graduates..reporters and journalist find the rug being gradually pulled of their feet as bloggers and writers who hitherto knew nothing about mass communication.
take over the business of news discovering and sharing newspaper and television are no longer holding the baton in exclusive control of the media business...for mass comm.majors who wish to find and pursue the right career day need to understand the change in mass media and communication tools and acquire the right skills.
other worst course are;
6 botany
7 social studies
8 english literature
9 zoology
10 forest and wildlife management(wonder what you wana do with these, maybe you will use the certificate for cutting of woods in the forest)

Good Reasons To Do A PhD
Good Reasons To Do A PhD
1. To achieve something significant
Some of us who have ambitions to make money should just become an entrepreneurs and forget Phd. But if you are
ambitious in that you wish to challenge yourself,
push yourself to new heights or achieve a
difficult goal, then a doctorate may be for you.
2. To discover or learn something new
Some of us are very curious when we are young, we love to learn new thing, i think you will make a great research. If you feel a
driving force pushing you to explore and learn
new things, then you may love research, and find
a doctorate is perfect for you.
3. To improve yourself and your life
Doing a PhD for the sake of a pay rise is not a
good reason. But if you want to improve your
abilities to understand and solve problems,
increase your confidence, make yourself a better
communicator and gain skills that may lead to a
better job, then a doctorate may be right for
you.
4. It fits you/Natural to you
Some people are made for a doctorate. You
might have grown up doing countless little
'research projects' as hobbies. You might have a
natural thirst for knowledge or an insatiable
appetite for reading books about a particular
topic. You might have had a life-long fascination
- even obsession - about something significant.
If this sounds like you, and you can tailor a
doctorate to suit your particular needs, then
you'll love it.
Bad Reasons To Do A PhD
Most of us have several reasons for wanting to
do a doctorate, and of course they're not all
good.
1. Peer Pressure
If you're thinking of a doctorate because all your
friends are going to try, well done on having
some clever friends. But you will have to do the
doctorate, not them. How will you feel if they all
achieve their PhDs while you struggle on, year
after year, getting further and further into debt? and we all know Nigeria professors
2.Horrible Job
If you are doing a job that you hate and just
want to quit - then find another job. A PhD is
not an escape hatch through which you fall into
a better world, it is a long steep staircase that
takes extreme perseverance to climb.
3.Fulfilling the Ambitions of Others
If your partner or parents think that you should
do a doctorate because they wished that they
had - tell them to do one themselves. It must be
your own ambition that drives you, not the
ambition of anyone else. Otherwise you will
resent them during the tough times of your work
and blame them if it goes wrong.
4. Rebelling
If everyone is telling you to go and get a job
and you don't like being told what to do, then
make sure you are rebelling towards something
you want, and not simply away from irritating
parents or a boring town.
5.Misplaced Genius Complex
If you think you are brilliant and will solve all of
the world's problems, but every one of your
undergrad lecturers is telling you that your
ideas are unworkable and that you are not cut
out for a doctorate - it is quite likely that they
are right and you are wrong.
6. Insecurity
You might feel that your talents are never
appreciated and you crave more respect from
people around you. Perhaps you like the idea of
impressing by showing a CV with 'Dr' on
it. This is not as daft as it sounds, for doctors do
genuinely receive preferential treatment, and in
some countries are treated with enormous
respect. You are more likely to get a better job
as well. However, if insecurity is your main
driving force then you may struggle, for you will
be surrounded by professors and post-docs who
are more experienced than you throughout the
course of your PhD. You will receive respect from
them when you earn it, not because of the `Dr'
which they have themselves.
7. You've Done This Kind of Thing Before
If you have worked in a similar area, you may
have already done research or activities very
similar to those that you will do during a
doctorate. Or perhaps you have done a research-
based project for your MSc. This is excellent
experience and will help you, but a word of
warning: most people think they know what they
are letting themselves in for, and they are
wrong. An undergraduate or MSc project does
not give a proper taste of a PhD any more than Working in
industry is very different from academia. Even for
someone with experience, the doctorate is not as
easy as you might think.
Hopefully, you will find that more of the good
reasons apply to you than the bad ones. Be
honest with yourself. You are thinking of
embarking on something that can change your
life, either for better or worse, depending on
you.

Reasons Why Phd Take Too Long To Study In Nigeria
Yes you will ask "why the multiple thread on P.h.d?" But I think the
frustration involved is worth discussing. Why do P.h.d take too long to
finish? Why do some people get frustrated out after freezing their
account? Though Phd involves a lot of cross examination but there are
some other annoying factors that contribute to such delays and duration
which I try as much as possible to compile here using Nigeria situation.
Possible causes
1. Nigeria Professor/Lecturers are Wicked
Please if you are a lecturer here, don't be offended but the bad egg are more than the good eggs. Take for example in the school I graduated from (name withheld) a particular lecturer will come to the class with this abnormal and infuriating quote "Nobody can have A's in my course because A" belong to God, B" for extra-ordinary student and C" for brilliant student". Yes! Infact the highest in the class is usually "46, 47 or sometimes "50", he made everyone look dull and silly. I took a bold step one day to challenge him which was later a detriment to my final result "he said when he was in school, the lecturer that thought him that course Never give anybody A". Sorry I digress from the main topic but that is the major problem of Phd in Nigeria. A professor will tell you that before he can get to the level he his now, he know what he pass through, so "a reprisal attack". The truth is, if I get Phd through pain and stress and someone want to get same through me easily, I remember the past and do same to him/her(that is the way we think). I remember one of my favourite lecturer back then in school, after spending 2years studying this unfinished Phd, he was frustrated out after spending money, I ask him what happen "he said he was surprise that after spending energy on his thesis, his supervisor said he cannot find is research work, he should start all over. All over, lol..after 2years..with just 1year is almost through now in australia
2. Professors will explore you
Quote me wrong if you did not face same at your undergraduate level. The high rate of corruption in Nigeria has affected every affairs of the nation including our university system, now adays you can be sleeping at home and be passing your exam if you have what my igbo brother will call "ego". I remember a lecturer too from another school, he said this particular supervisor has been procrastinating the correction of his research work, this very day he thought to himself with frustration "what on earth can I do?" And that Nigeria sense came back to him, he went aftermath to change the four tyre of the supervisor's car including the fueling. He continue by saying "My brother, after doing this, the supervisor look at me on my face and say "you have not been serious with your thesis, have not been seeing you! Let me see what you have done so far. The name of that university is in Lagos (I didn't mention any name now).
3. Phd involves money
Aside the corruption aspect, Phd as to do with an indepth knowledge of a particular problem you are trying to solve. Some research thesis might involves you traveling from state to state, out of the country and do forth, this depend on the nature of the research though, and most of this research work are exploratory in nature. Another fact is that before you can start any Phd work you must atleast publish 3 conference paper in a reputable country and publisher. I remember receiving a mail some month ago inviting me for a conference in paris, that is, I should submit my research work for a conference paper. I try and check the authencity of the mail and confirm it to be genuine but attached to the mail is a pdf file showing the break down in payment " 300 pounds(without accomodation), 450 pounds( with accomodation), if I cannot come due to transportation but still submit my paper(250 pounds). Though some will say is cheap but how about some that cannot afford the money, that is why most P.hd programme in advanced countries are based on scholarship.
4. The assessment of Phd thesis is a large and serious undertaking, it requires a substantial period of uninterrupted time
Our examiner, supervisor too are human not machine, they are busy people with many calls in their time and unforeseen circumstances which may arise in their lives which may delay their assessment and submission of report within the usual time frame
5. I too know syndrome/ Not taking correction
This stuffs affect me a lot when I was in school, no lecturer or supervisor or professor will ever accept that they are wrong especially from those they are supervising or teaching. P.hd in Nigeria is regarding as "I'm an expert in my field" which mean you are to learn from them and not to correct them, even though you are so sure that you are very crystal correct, you need to pretend that you are massively wrong if you want to graduate or get your thesis approved or assessed. Majority of us may this argue this point but I think is also a key factor in Nigeria
6. Spiritual connection
Like it or not it is one of the disease in Nigeria. Let me give you an example " I was listening to a tape by pastor olukoya( a respected man of God, mountain of fire) and he gave an example of a man that has been writing a professional exam for more than 30 years but to no avail, each time he try, something will happen, the invigilator coming might have an accident, a crisis might occur which will make the paper impossible to write(postponed) meanwhile affecting others. When he examine himself he went abroad to write the exam, that same problem keep occurring until when he seek spiritual help and discover that is family is behind him. Some of us are coming from a polygamous family where you are the only one thriving among others such can bring a discord and you discover that a Phd of 2yrs is taking you 25years.
7. Jealousy
This apply to those in the academics already(I mean lecturer). Take for example the polytechnic where I graduated. Every other lecturers in that department have only masters degree while there is this particular one running his Phd programme. This create a serious hatred and backbitting that you will even see in the open, some will even come to the class telling everyone without no shame that "look at him, he is bragging with ego because his doing Phd and talking to his superiors with no respect". My brethren this lecturer never complete that P.hd, they even went ahead to report him for not attending his class for his own personal interest. Let me give you another example, a particular lecturer in a university in the north was also facing similar problem to the extend that no nigeria university want to accept him for Phd because his colleague have blackmail him. He took a wise decision, without informing anybody in the department, he applied in a university in malaysia, the malaysian professor was so surprise that a man they have been reading his journal, textbook never even have a Phd, they told him not to worry that he will give him the Phd in due time. Till now nobody in his school knew his was during a Phd.
8. Research Topics (Thesis Topic)
Majority of us give ourselves an headache of picking a topic you cannot handle, why not pick a narrow topic that you can easily handle and finish in time. This factor contribute to reasons why supervisors keep canceling and canceling till you are frustrated.
9. Lack of proper research guidance given by the research
Without guides, a candidate cannot register for PhD itself
10. Lack of experience of the Researcher pursuing PhD which lead to Lack of interest
Before you embark on any phD programme is better you seek advice from those that have pass through it before you are frustrated out
11. Lack of Grant of permission from the organization you work for.
Not only your organization, quote me wrong "How many Nigeria university have a grant for scholarship?
This are just my own perceived causes which I'm very sure are more than this, should in case you have done your phD thesis you can account your experience here, so that others with such ambition will learn..thanks

BISIMILLAHI: VERY SIMPLE WAYS TO STOP ZINA
Salam alaikum warahmotullah wabarakatu.
Anyone who is addicted to committing zina must hasten to deal with it in a number of wayz, including the following:
1. Seriously think of getting married, because this is the sharia (legal islamic law) and natural protection for the Muslim man and woman. If you are planning marriage with a brother or sister but he or she doesn't feel like marrying for whatever reason, please ignore him or her and move on with your search. Whoever is not willing to marry is not worth wasting your time on. Be free from bondage of zina of all kind. I mean zina of mouth, hands, mind, eyes, legs. etc. All minor zina leads to the major one. Give him or her the RED CARD an defeat shaitan.
2. Fasting if one cannot get married. Strive to be fasting regularly with lots of zikir.
3. Muslim Men and Women should strive to stregthen their Eeman (faith) by reading the Qur'an, offering naafil (voluntary) prayer and doing other kinds of acts of worship.
4. Taking care to choose righteous friends. Edit your friends and keep only good practising muslims.
5. Keeping away from anything that might provoke desire. One of the most obvious of this is looking at things which are haram (unlawful). Avoid watching unnecessary movies.
6. Remembering the punishments for zina in this world and in the hereafter, and that its evil affects far out weigh the immediate pleasure that a person may experience.
7. Make Dua, get up in the latter part of the nights and beseech your lord, submitting yourself to him and humbling yourself before his majesty asking him to rid you of the problem. Turn to your lord and call upon him, for he is the best one to be asked -may he be glorified- and He does not turn away his slaves if they are sincere.
We ask Allah to keep us safe and sound with regard to our commitment and our wordly affairs and to help us put our affairs in order before we meet our lord. Aameen

BSC VS HND.................READ ON
Success in life should not be determined by our alma mater. I believe
that everybody has a chance to be successful whether they went to a
university or polytechnic. Our success is in our hands. This write-up is
not meant to degrade HND holders. I am one of those that are strongly
against the discrimination against HND holders. However, the reality on
ground (due to the discrimination) is that BSc is still more superior to
HND and I have given reasons below to state the obvious but bitter
truth.
1 Entrance Qualification - The entrance qualification to the university is more stringent than that to the polytechnic. The UTME cut off for universities is higher than that of polytechnics. All universities require a minimum of 5 credits in WASSCE/NECO while most polytechnics accept 4 credits as minimum requirement. It is well accepted that the entrance qualification to any institution says a lot about the prestige attached to such institution.
2 Quality of Lecturers- You cannot compare the quality of lecturers in the university to that of the polytechnic. Most university lecturers are professors and PhD holders with decades of teaching and research experience to show for it. Some of them are universally renowned professors. The head of universities are always renowned and experienced academic professors. Most Master degree holders in universities are mere assistant lecturers. The same cannot be said of polytechnics where most of their 'experienced' lecturers are mere BSc holders. Most rectors of polytechnics are Msc holders, only a few have PhD. Even corps members lecture polytechnic students. Has it ever occurred to you why polytechnics find it hard to employ even their own products (HND holders) to lecture? Instead, they employ mostly university grads to teach.
3 Research Work- University is the bedrock of research work. Research work lays the foundation of advancement and any sane society will rate any higher institution by the quality of their research. Unfortunately, the quality of research work in Nigerian universities is poor but this is still far better than that of polytechnics that do absolutely nothing (or very negligible research work).
4 Funding- Universities are much more funded than polytechnics. One of the metrics for determining the quality of an institution is the level of funding. No wonder, the government and the media pay more attention to the demand of ASUU over ASUP. Thus, you will expect a product of a university to be better trained than that of a polytechnic.
5 Quality of students - The brightest, youngest and most motivated students go to the universities. Go to a polytechnic and what you will see a lot of dejected, not-so-young students who have written UTME many times but have not succeeded. A few in the polytechnics are young and bright, but they are few and far between. The majority of young and bright students, just fresh from secondary school are found within the 4 walls of the university. Thus, most university grads are of higher intellectual quality than their poly counterparts.
6 Size and Beauty of Campus - A lot can be said about the quality of an institution by the architectural structures of the institutions. Let's take the elite universities and polytechnics in Nigeria for instance. One cannot compare the architectural edifices in the prestigious OAU, UI, ABU, UNN, UNILAG, UNIBEN to that of Yabatech, Kadpoly, Auchi, Bida Poly or any polytechnic in Nigeria. No polytechnic in Nigeria can even compete with some 2nd and 3rd generation universities like FUT Minna, UniJos, FUTA, etc in terms of structures.
7 Preference / Demand - The preference for BSc is higher than for OND/HND. All or almost all aspiring students wish to go to the university. Employers generally prefer BSc holders over HND holders. HND holders are seen as middle level manpower (That was the intent when polytechnics were initially created). There are more opportunities for BSc holders not just within the country but outside Nigeria. Jobs and scholarship opportunities abound for BSc holders and undergraduates while it is almost non-existent for HND holders.
8 Self Esteem - Last but not the least, an average BSc holder is more confident than an average HND holder. This is however not the fault of HND holders who unfortunately have to face stiff discrimination in the labour market, thus negatively impacting on their self esteem.
